Founded over 50 years ago we are a local club very much integrated into the  local community. In 1963 Councillor Ann James officially opened the bowling green at Croesyceiliog which had been laid under the auspices of Pontypool Rural District Council. The club was formed on the 17th May 1963 which, meant 2013 was the clubs 50th anniversary.

The first chairman was Councillor Mr F G Hole who remained chairman for 25 years.

During the first year the Club only played a few friendly matches but in 1964 the Club was then entered into the leagues run by the Welsh Bowling Association, the Monmouthshire Bowling Association, and the Eastern Valley Bowling Association. Over the past 51 years the club is proud to be able to state that 4 of its members have become President of the Eastern Valley B.A. They are Mr F L Edwards,Mr H Davies, Mr H Hill, and Mr B K Green.. Mr F L Edwards was made a life member of the Monmouthshire B A in 1976 and went on to become President of the Monmouthshire B A in 1979.

Some notable achievements on the green started when the club won the EVBA Club championship in 1974.

Certain individuals have really carried the flag high for the club, none more than Mr R.W. Berry who was the MBA under 35 Champion in 1980. He also won the Torfaen Open Tournament in 1982 and 1987. In 1989 he and Mr T Hine won the MBA pairs Championship.

In 1985 Mr M Greedy won the South Wales Police Championship. Most recently the club were proud to support Mr Rhys Morgan when he becme MBA under 25's singles Champion in 2002. In 1988 the club celebrated it's Silver Jubilee with games against teams from all over Wales, culminating with the Welsh President bringing a side to play at Croesyceiliog.

Over the years the Club has built a reputation of always being competitive but always being friendly and very sociable. Currently the club has approximately 37 members aged between 17 and 84 and run teames in the Welsh league, the Monmouthshire league, the Eastern Valley league and also a second team in the Gwent Bowling League. The club is proud to boast of a number of qualified coaches and has excellent facilities. The green is open from early April until late October, and if any gentlemen,of any age would like to come along and try the game they would be made very welcome.
